Supporters
There are no added fees or costs for supporting a project. When you pledge a reward you authorize your card to be charged the pledge amount. If the project reaches its goal we will charge your credit card that amount. For digital product purchases your card is charged at the time of purchase.
Project Creators
For approved projects there are 3 types of fees: a listing fee deposit, project funding fees, and project payment fees. There is no fee or cost for pitching a project idea.
Listing Fee Deposit
Listing Fee Deposit is only collected if your project idea gets enough votes. This means there is no fee to launch your initial project idea (where you collect votes)
Once your project gets enough votes then a listing fee deposit is required for project creators to launch their project to start collecting funds from supporters. Again, when your project idea is being voted upon you do not yet need to pay this fee. Only if your project idea receives the required number of votes and is approved by the Offbeatr staff will you then have to pay this fee. This deposit is returned if a project reaches its funding goal. The Listing Fee Deposit amount varies depending how much you want to raise.
Listing Fee Deposit = (Desired Funding Goal / 25) x $0.50 [rounded to the next $5]; This amount is calculated automatically for you when you create your project
Examples showing how Deposit varies based on funding goal:
- Funding Goal:$300 (minimum amount); Deposit = $10
- Funding Goal:$5000; Deposit = $100
- Funding Goal:$30,000 (maximum amount); Deposit = $600

Project Funding Fees
A fee is applied to the amount raised and varies depending on the amount raised and type of support. The amount raised for a project is a total of the pledges/rewards and digital product sales (if used) a project receives.
Rewards Fee:
- Project Creator only receive rewards/pledge money if project is successful
- 30% fee for collected pledges
Digital Products Fee:
- Project Creator keep sales regardless if project is successful
- 30% fee for total amount of product sales
Why Do Fees Seem High?
Payment companies like Paypal, Amazon, and most payment processing companies prohibit their services to be used for anything adult in nature. Adult products (like videos, books, etc...) are considered high risk due to a history of higher cases of fraud and chargebacks. Because of this the few companies who do process for adult companies charge often 2 to 3 times more than non-adult payment companies.

Project Payment Fees
After a project is successful there are 2 ways of payment. For US banks payment can be done via ACH direct deposit or wire transfer. For international banks payment is through wire transfer.
- No fee for direct deposit bank transfer
- $35 wire transfer fee for international bank transfer
